Interestingly enough, Michael Mann originally planned to feature a striking tattoo on the chest of Francis Dollarhyde (Tom Noonan) in Manhunter. This would be shown, one assumes, predominently during scenes with Reba – who of course is completely blind (thereby not noticing nor judging Dollarhyde on his “Red Dragon” tattoo).

As you may have seen there are some scarce production photographs in existence which actually show Noonan sporting the (amazing) tattoo – and interestingly enough, that artwork was based on this version of Blake’s “Great Red Dragon…” painting – whereas one of the other versions of it featured in Red Dragon (2002) and also, from memory, the Hannibal TV series starring Richard Armitage as the troubled “Mr. D” on that occasion.

Collector’s note: Whilst a proper, official art print, this product was not produced to coincide with either the release of Manhunter or Red Dragon. It is however several years old. Offered here due to the close connection to the source materials (Red Dragon, the novel, by Thomas Harris).

Type

Official Art Print

Artist(s)

William Blake (1757~1827)

Condition

Unused, but with minor knocks to both upper corners and a "squiggle" line drawn in faint coloured pencil (reverse side ONLY!). This beautiful print would look great framed and (ahem..) looks almost good enough to eat!!
